This cherupayar parippu payasam is my favorite and is simple to prepare. This is usually prepared during the festive occasions like Onam, Vishu and Eid as a dessert after the main course meal.

Cherupayar paripp payasam
ingredients

split moong dal / Cherupayar paripp – 2 cups
jaggery – 2 cups
sugar – 2 tbsp ( if required only)
Thick coconut milk – 1.5 cups
salt to balance the taste

cumin seed ( 1 tsp)+Cardamom (6)+ Dry ginger – few pieces – powder it and add

for seasoning

ghee – 2 tbsp
chopped coconut
cashews
