Mayor of Los Angeles Karen Bass has been slammed after posting a “bizarre” video on social media as she faces calls to resign for her handling of the wildfire crisis.
Sky News host Gabriella Power said Ms Bass “appeared slightly upbeat” as she told her social media followers she’s “seen the devastation”.
Ms Bass said, “We’re the nation’s second-largest city, one of the greatest cities in the world”.
Ms Power said, “The people of LA don’t need to be told that she’s seen the devastation – they are all experiencing the heartbreak and devastation for themselves.”
“They also don’t need to be told that LA is the nation’s second-largest city. They need answers. They need leadership. And they need to know why decisions were made that meant LA was not prepared to fight these fires.”
Almost 100,000 people have signed a Change.org petition demanding Karen Bass resign over her fire response.
