A mixed stage on day 12 that whilst hilly does not write off the sprinters and does not guarantee the climbers an easy win. Between Jaén and Córdoba the cyclists will face two main climbs, with an intermediate sprint inbetween. These two climbs will prove challenging and at averages of up to 11% could see sprinters drop off after they contest the sprint before the climb. However, with 18km remaining after the final climb’s descents it will not be impossible for sprinters to have a chance of winning the stage if they play their cards correctly.
