Just yesterday, Trump-appointed Judge Aileen Cannon issued an order prohibiting Attorney General Merrick Garland from publicly releasing any of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s final report documenting the federal crimes for which Donald Trump was indicted.
Today, federal prosecutors responded by telling the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals that AG Garland WILL publicly release Volume 1 of Smith’s report – documenting Trump’s crimes in connection with his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election – but will not publicly release Volume 2 – detailing Trump’s classified documents/obstruction of justice/espionage crimes – because release Vol. 2 could prejudice the future trials of Trump’s co-defendants Walt Nauta and Carlos De Oliveira.
This video reviews the prosecution’s new court filing with the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.
