Doing some countersink tests for the CNC workbench project I’ve been working on the design for made with the Stepcraft Q.408 4’x8′ CNC machine. I used the Amana Tool item no. 55202 3/8″ diameter countersink with a 1/8″ drill bit links to all tools used below.

RPM: 3,000
Feed Rate: 60ipm (Since this is a drilling toolpath, there really isn’t a feed rate on the countersink bit. The only thing that applies is the plunge rate. Vectric software requires a feed rate so I used 60ipm, but it could be 1ipm and it wouldn’t matter as it only moves up and down.)
Plunge Rate: 30ipm
Peck Drill: .25″ per pass

I used the item no. CO-120 7-8mm collet to hold the bit. I tightened it down using the item no. ATW-32 ER32 Adjustable Torque Wrench while the item no. UHO-32 auto-locking stand held it tight. The Auto-Tool Changer picked up the item no. 55202 countersink bit and drilled out all of the countersinks for a near perfect fit. We can now move on to the full sheets to make the workbench!
