This past week, I’ve been thinking a lot about all the things we now have in our lives to make life a little easier. But, as the world turns to miracle fat loss drugs and ChapGPT to make things “easier,” I also wonder what the hidden costs might be to these “too good to be true” shortcuts.

That leads me to this week’s guest, Sascha Edge. At the age of 43, Sascha took up running and completed his first ever marathon in just under 4 hours. He never considered himself to be a runner–in fact, he’s pretty sure he wasn’t even wearing running shoes for that first marathon. And the minute he crossed that finish line? The first thing he said was “I’m never doing this again.” But guess what? He did. And he got faster every single year, setting his current personal best time of 2:47 at the Indy Monumental Marathon in 2021.

He was 54 years old.

Sascha’s running story is incredible–like, literally not believable. Over the past decade, he’s collected more personal bests and race category wins than most people have shoes. But that’s not what makes his story so inspiring. The minute you hear his voice, you’ll instantly understand that seemingly ordinary people–that guy you work with at the warehouse, the father of two boys, the friend you call over to watch the game–can do extraordinary things.

If you give them a chance.

And thus… so can you.
