An adventure up The Troll Wall in Norway. considered to be on of the most dangerous walls in the world to climb due to it being so loose.
Troll Wall is one of the most dangerous walls to climb in the world; it’s falling apart. Only a few climbers each year climb here, but most come away with a story to tell.
We went to climb one of the most ‘Popular’ routes on the wall, and the stories were true. Before even setting off we experienced multiple rock falls, scree moving and a general feel that anything could happen. On the crux we witnessed an explosion of a rock fall from the back of the valley which littered the approach slabs where we had been just 7 hours before. We climbed further and further, for hours and hours until eventually It got dark, so we had to sleep on a small ledge. The next morning we got to the top of the 1000m pile of choss in a total time of 27 hours. I would never recommend climbing here
