RFK Senate confirmation hearing LIVE: Today the Senate will hold a hearing to consider the nomination of Robert F Kennedy Jr., of California, to be Secretary of Health and Human Services.
RFK Jr. (son of Robert F Kennedy who was assassinated in 1968 while running for president) has made headlines with controversial stances on vaccines and other health opinions seen in contrast to “Big Pharma” and the medical and scientific establishment.
RFK Jr. has been a Democratic for most of his career, but switched to being more conservative and Republican minded in recent years. He entered into the 2024 presidential race, being on several states ballots, though ultimately withdrawing and claiming he was not running. He gave his support to President Donald Trump, and encouraged his supporters to go with the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement, even using the phrase Make America Healthy Again in response.
