The Brennan Center for Justice reported that since the 2020 election, 78 restrictive laws aimed at obstructing voting have been enacted in approximately 30 states. Investigative reporter Greg Plast states that the widespread purging of voters of color, along with the mass disqualification of provisional and mail-in ballots, contributed to the democratic loss.
