Authentic Kerala Dishes with my personal Touch ๐Ÿ˜

Ingredients
Brown Chana -1 cup
Onion -1
Tomato -1/2
Salt-
Coconut Oil -1tsp
Water 3cup

For Masala

Onion -2
Ginger -1 small
Garlic -4 cloves
Fennel Seeds -1/2tsp
Pepper -1/2tsp
Green chilli-3
Curryleaves –
Turmeric Powder -1/4tsp
Kashmiri Chilli Powder -1/2tbsp
Chilli Powder -3/4tbsp
Coriander Powder-1 1/2tsp
Garam Masala -3/4tsp
Tomato-11/2 small

Small Onion -10
Coconut Oil –
Curryleaves –

Method

Soak 1 cup brown chana overnight/atleast 6 hours. Take a cooker add the channa , onion, half tomato,salt,water and coconut oil. Mix and heat for 5 whistles(till it is cooked well).Take another kadai and heat some coconut oil. Crush all Fennel seed, ginger, garlic and pepper and add it to the coconut oil. Saute for few minutes. Then add 2 medium sized onion. Saute. Add curry leaves, salt and green leaves. Saute till onion turns golden brown. Add turmeric , chilly , Kashmiri chilly, coriander powder and garam masala powder. Saute well till the raw smell goes. Add the tomatoes. Cook with lid on for 5 mins till the tomatoes are really cooked. From the cooked channa take 2 tbsp of channa and keep grind it well. Add the rest of the channa and the gravy to the sautรฉed masala.Allow it to boil well. Add the ground channa too. When the gravy is reduced we can add some pepper powder. Mix well. Add some garam masala. You can either add few tomato pieces/slit green chilly/curry leaves only. Now for the seasoning take a small saucepan and add some oil to it. Add some shallots. Saute it till it is golden brown add some curry leaves. Add it to the channa gravy.close the lid. Add some sugar (optional). Serve after 5 mins.
